Segment one: the machines
Gateway Casinos Clinton puts 141 slot machines on its floor. They come in two styles, reel and video, and in every denomination. That is the whole gaming offer in the building.
Plan with that in mind: the casino lists no live tables, no poker room, no bingo and no sports betting. Race wagering is absent from the floor as well. Clinton Raceway Inc. handles it at the track on race days, and its simulcast runs away from the property, on Huron Fish and Game Club's premises at 278 Alma Grove. The crew gives no opinion on payouts, odds or machine choice.
Time-out at the food counter
Gateway Casinos Clinton runs Getaway Express, a licensed food counter with light meals, savoury snacks and drinks. It serves daily from 11:30 AM to 7 PM. If you plan to eat on site, time the meal inside that window.
On the floor, coffee, tea and fountain pop are handed out at no charge. These drinks are all non-alcoholic. Holiday hours are not posted, so call the front desk at 519-482-7540 before a holiday visit.
The rewards card and cash on hand
My Club Rewards is the membership card at Gateway Casinos Clinton, and joining is free. Bring valid ID to the Guest Services desk to get one. Points then accumulate as you play the slot machines. Treat the points as a side effect of play, never as a reason for a longer session.
For cash, the casino has bank machines and a currency exchange on the premises. If you want a firm limit for the day, set it at home and bring that amount.
Credits roll: the operator
Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited operates Gateway Casinos Clinton. In May 2017, as part of OLG's Southwest Gaming Bundle, the company took over the slots at Clinton Raceway. The operating agreement lasts 20 years. Across Ontario, casino gaming is conducted and managed by OLG, the buildings are run by private companies, and the AGCO regulates them.
In January 2014, the Responsible Gambling Council gave the slots at Clinton Raceway its RG Check accreditation. The casino keeps its own official website, and OLG lists it in its Southwest region. The racetrack itself is a separate business, owned and run by Clinton Raceway Inc.
